Things To Do In Chattanooga, Hixson, and Ooltewah!
The Aquarium at night
Boredom is a word unheard of in Chattanooga
with the riverfront activities. Beginning with the nine-day Riverbend Festival
each June, the river Roast barbecue cook-off in May and Christmas on the River
boat parade in December. Enjoy a movie at the seven-screen Carmike Bijou. The
Tennessee Aquarium and the IMAX 3D Theater always have something new to see and
experience. Within a couple of blocks of the Aquarium is the Creative Discovery
Museum, the Lookouts baseball at Bell South Park, Chattanooga Regional History
Museum and more.
Take the free electric shuttle or a
horse-drawn carriage from the river to the City's historic Southside.
Chattanooga Riverboat Company's Southern Belle offers daily sightseeing and
dining cruises along the river.
Stroll along the Tennessee Riverwalk to the
Bluff View Art District, a hamlet of inns, eateries, galleries, museums, and
cultural activity. Enjoy the Hunter Museum of American Art, Houston Museum of
Decorative Art and the River Gallery and Sculpture Garden.

How about Ruby Falls, home to a 145-foot constantly flowing waterfall in an
underground cave. Then just up the road on Lookout Mountain is Rock City

A visit is never complete unless you go to
the Chattanooga Choo Choo! Originally opened as Terminal Station in 1909 the
Chattanooga Choo Choo is now a 30 acre playground featuring railroad car
sleeping quarters, theme restaurants, trolley rides, a large model railroad
exhibit and beautiful Victorian fountain-gardens.

just watch the breath taking sport of hang gliding at Lookout Mountain Flight
Park.
If hang gliding is not your sport,
how about white water rafting on the Ocoee. Guided tours for all ages, just 30
minutes north of Chattanooga. Take a picnic and watch if you don't have the
courage to go down river.
Chattanooga is a dynamic arts community. The
Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Association, the only such combined organization
in the country, brings world-renowned performers to the restored Tivoli Theatre
on Broad Street. Other musical venues and groups include the Choral Society for
the Preservation of African American Song founded by UTC professor and composer
Roland Carter, the Chattanooga Area Friends of Folk Music, the Mountain Opry on
Walden's Ridge, and the Bessie Smith Performance Hall.
Chattanooga offers a variety of ways to
become engaged in the arts. In addition to the academic arts programs at the
local colleges and universities, introductory classes in everything from drama
to painting to contemporary dance are available. Visit www.alliedartschatt.org
for a complete calendar of events and class offerings.
Golf is another favorite pastime in
Chattanooga. Public and private courses, some of them world class, are
plentiful. Tennis anyone? The new Champions Club is a 20 court state-of-the-art
tennis facility, which opened to the public in December 2000. Competitive
tennis has a long history in Chattanooga, and first class public and private
tennis venues are found across the city.
Rainbow Lake, Signal Mountain
Recreate 2008, a study of recreational needs
and facilities in the area is responsible for new recreation centers that offer
swimming pools, tennis courts, and baseball and softball fields.
Take me out to a ballgame! Last season more
than 290,000 fans watched the Lookouts compete at BellSouth Park. The
Chattanooga Lookouts of the Class AA Southern League played 70 home games last
year. Peanuts anyone?
The only way anyone will appreciate what
Chattanooga has to offer is to "come on down". Experience for yourself the
southern hospitality we offer in the beautiful city of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Sometimes a real estate agent will walk into a home that is basically attractive, yet communicates the feeling that something is lacking. Then the agent notices that all of the drapes are closed, interior lights are off and there is a lot of overgrown shrubbery blocking the sunlight that might otherwise pour through the windows.
A dark house is not as appealing to most buyers as one that is flooded with light. As a part of your preparations to market your home, try to maximize the light in your home. Make sure that all the windows are clean and the drapes are open when the house is being shown. A fresh coat of light paint can do a lot to brighten up the interior. If your house has very dark paneling, and you do not wish to repaint the walls, you may want to consider adding additional lamps. Your real estate agent may be able to provide other simple and cost-effective ideas about how to maximize your home's appeal.
